She received her undergraduate degree in education from Washburn University and her Master's in counseling from Kansas State University.  She taught for 4 years at Wetmore Academic Center 6th, 7th and 8th grade Science and Social Studies.  She received her first counseling job from USD 335 Jackson Heights School District.  She was a K-8 counselor for 4 years and K-12 counselor for 4 years.  Her husband, Garrett Michael, is also a teacher in the USD 113 school district.  She has two daughters, Payton and Paxton and one son Preston.  In her spare time she enjoys running after her children, anything sports related and hanging out with family members.
