Mrs. Edelman teaches Spanish 1 and 2 at Sabetha High School. She grew up in South Elgin, which is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Her family moved to Sabetha when she was in middle school, and she graduated from Sabetha High School in 2006. Mrs. Edelman earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Kansas State University in 2010 with a degree in Secondary Education and areas of concentration in Spanish as well as English as a Second Language. During college, she had several opportunities to study abroad and through the study abroad program spent time in Morelia, México, as well as in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She also spent a summer in Magdalena, México, as summer staff at a children’s home where she taught summer school, facilitated a reading program, and did various activities with and for the children who live there. Mrs. Edelman enjoys traveling, Spanish, and spending time with her husband Brian and their four daughters. Many special memories of hers are associated with the Spanish language, and she is enthusiastic about sharing, encouraging, and cultivating an appreciation for other languages and cultures in her students. |
