Personal Finance: Scott Burger | Consumer and Personal Finance explores the relationship of basic money management and consumer decision-making across the lifespan. It includes an in-depth look at risk management, use of credit, consumer rights and responsibilities, setting goals and impact of the family on personal financial decision making. How to make wise choices to develop a healthy financial self will be a major component of this course as well as an introduction to the occupations related to the field. |
Entrepreneurship: Nathan Bauman | You will be taken on a step-by-step journey through the entire process of owning your own business. The class will visit businesses in town monthly and see first-hand the keys of running a successful business. |
Accounting 1: Nathan Bauman | This course prepares a person to understand the concepts needed to make good business decisions and keep up- to-date financial records.Students will learn how to plan, keep, analyze, and interpret financial records. |
Advanced Accounting: Nathan Bauman | This course prepares a person to understand the concepts needed to make good business decisions and keep up- to-date financial records. Students will learn how to plan, keep, analyze, and interpret financial records. |
Business Essentials: Nathan Bauman | This is a core course designed to give students an overview of the business, marketing and finance career cluster occupations. Students will develop an understanding of how academic skills in mathematics, economics, and written and oral communications are integral components of success in these occupations. Students will examine current events to determine their impact on business and industry and legal and ethical behavior, acquire knowledge of safe and secure environmental controls to enhance productivity, determine how resources should be managed to achieve company goals, and identify employability and personal skills needed to obtain a career and be successful in the workplace. As students learn about the different types of business ownership, they will interpret industry laws and regulations to ensure compliance, identify principles of business management, and analyze business practices to determine ethics and social responsibilities. |
