I started teaching in 2009, coaching in 2007, became a Principal in 2017, and went back to teaching in 2021. I graduated from Frankfort High School in 2003 and from Peru State College in 2009 with my bachelor’s degree in K-12 Physical Education. I started my coaching career while still in college in 2007 here at Axtell but left to take a full-time teaching position at Wetmore in 2009. A lot of things have happened since I left, I married my wife Erin (Shaughnessy) in 2010, an Axtell graduate in 2002. We moved to Marysville in 2012 and had our son, Colson in February 2014, we added our second son, Cannon to our family in November 2017, and in November of 2019, we added a daughter, Braylee, to the mix. I graduated from Kansas State University with my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in May of 2016. I came back to Axtell in 2015 as the Physical Education Teacher, A.D., and was the head coach of High School Cross Country, Boys’ Basketball, Track, Junior High Football, Boys’ Basketball, and Track. I spent from 2017 to 2021 as the PK-12 Principal and in 2021 decided to move back to Physical Education. I enjoy working with students of all age levels and seeing them grow and develop the skills necessary to be successful in today's society.
