1. Since the State Board of Education gave their ruling, has there been any new information on the 115 request for 113 land?
A. Yes, 113 received a letter from 115. View it here.
2. Can you summarize the differences between what 115 is offering now, what their previous offers were and what 113's final offer was?
A. USD 115 is again asking for the original request of land - having dropped one of the two requested parcels south of Hwy 36 (dropped was what was transferred to USD 380). It is unknown if USD 115 is working with USD 380 to obtain this parcel of land through a transfer.
This recent proposal is different than the request to meet in the “messy middle” that was shared by the USD 115 attorney to the Kansas State Board of Education, but is consistent with the original request.
The mediation process is subject to confidentiality, so specifics are not able to be shared. What can be shared is that the position of the USD 113 Board of Education has been consistent – the desire to find a solution that is at or near valuation neutral.
